Teaching the residents and students and watching their confidence and skill grow throughout their education. It is very satisfying knowing that upon graduation they will be competent and caring physicians.
How did you become interested in Obstetrics and Gynecology?
ObGyn was my first clerkship as a third-year student and the thrill of the delivery was imprinted forever. Despite my interest in most of the other specialties, I could not see my self doing anything else.
What would you like to see occur in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology during your career?
My career is closing, but I would like to see the residency extended to five years and have subspecialty tracts for those interested.
What are your hobbies outside of the office?
My hobbies outside of medicine are numerous, but my favorites are golf, working out, trout fishing, snow skiing and DYI home improvement projects.
What is something surprising that most people do not know about you?
Delivered my 5,000th baby this past year and decided to call it quits!
